Description
2004 Monaco Knight Diesel Pusher – Cummins ISC 330 – Allison 6-Speed – Only 48,984 Miles – Very Clean Coach
This 2004 Monaco Knight is an exceptionally clean and well-kept diesel pusher with only 48,984 miles. It runs and drives very well, and the interior shows that this coach has been cared for, with the furniture, cabinetry, and living areas all remaining in very nice condition for its age.
One of the biggest highlights of the Knight is its proven drivetrain. It is powered by the 8.3L Cummins ISC turbo-diesel producing 330 horsepower and 950 lb-ft of torque, paired with the highly desirable Allison 3000 MH 6-speed electronic automatic transmission. It is also equipped with an exhaust brake and full air brakes.
With just 48,984 miles, this is relatively low mileage for a diesel-pusher drivetrain of this type. The coach starts easily, runs strong, shifts properly, and drives down the road very well. During our driving and testing, there were no warning lights illuminated on the dash and no known drivetrain problems.
Monaco built the Knight as a substantial diesel coach, utilizing an aluminum superstructure, steel cockpit cage, fiberglass exterior walls, aluminum roof structure, and large exterior storage compartments. Factory equipment includes 50-amp electrical service, a 90-gallon diesel fuel tank, hydraulic leveling system, and a 10,000-lb hitch receiver.
CONDITION
This motorhome carries a salvage title due to a hail insurance claim. Despite the title history, we cannot see any noticeable hail damage on the sides, front, rear, or roof. Please look closely through all photos and judge the condition for yourself.
The exterior presents very well, and the interior is especially clean. The furniture is in excellent condition for the year and does not have the heavily worn appearance commonly found in older motorhomes.
Everything we were able to test operated as it should.
BEDROOM SLIDE DISCLOSURE
We did not attempt to extend the rear bedroom slide. As pictured in the listing photos, there is some cracking around the exterior corner near the bedroom slide. Because our shop and tools are located nowhere near where the motorhome is currently stored, we chose not to extend the slide.
This does not mean the bedroom slide is inoperative. It may operate perfectly fine; we simply did not test it.
The engine, transmission, driving systems, electrical systems, appliances, generator, and other coach functions that we tested operated properly.
WHY THIS COACH STANDS OUT
The combination of the Cummins ISC 330 and Allison 3000 MH transmission is a major advantage on an older diesel pusher. This is a pre-DPF/DEF-era diesel drivetrain with plenty of torque and a drivetrain combination that remains desirable among diesel motorhome buyers.
Add in the low 48,984 miles, very clean interior, well-kept furniture, and strong overall presentation, and this is a particularly appealing example for its age.
This is not a heavily worn-out coach that simply happens to run. It is a clean, well-preserved Monaco with a strong-running diesel drivetrain and relatively low mileage.
We are a dealership based in Utah and acquire motorhomes and RVs from throughout the United States. We have recently begun offering select units through AuctionTime, giving buyers an opportunity to purchase units like this directly through auction.
For someone looking for an affordable diesel pusher for traveling, extended stays, or even full-time living, this Monaco Knight represents a tremendous amount of motorhome for the money.
