Government-owned Swenson SADS 96-in. stainless-steel under-tailgate salt and sand spreader. Designed to mount below the existing tailgate of a municipal or contractor dump body, allowing the dump body to remain usable when the spreader is installed. Hydraulically powered unit equipped with a 6-in. direct-drive auger, separate hydraulic spinner drive, approximately 18-in. spinner discs, hydraulic hoses with quick-connect couplers, hinged cleanout door, anti-flow cover, adjustable spinner mounting hardware, tailgate shields, mounting brackets and pins, and work light. Two spinner assemblies/discs and the additional loose mounting and distribution components shown are included. The SADS series is designed for spreading free-flowing granular ice-control materials such as rock salt, sand, salt/sand mixtures, treated salt, magnesium chloride, and compatible granular ice-melting products. Factory specifications list an adjustable spread pattern of approximately 4 to 40 ft. Shows normal wear from government and municipal use, including staining, scratches, surface rust and oxidation on the auger, spinner shields, mounting hardware, hydraulic components, and other steel parts. Some components are detached and selling with the unit as pictured. A readable manufacturer model and serial-number tag was not located; model identification is based on the Swenson safety decal, measurements, construction, and component configuration.
